ABOUT US
Gunsight Angus is owned and operated by Garrett and Colter Nunn, fourth-generation ranchers carrying on their family’s legacy in the Laramie Valley.
Ranching has always been a part of their lives. Growing up around cattle and the daily responsibilities of the ranch instilled a deep respect for hard work, stewardship of the land, and the importance of producing cattle that work for commercial producers.
Today, Garrett and Colter continue that tradition with Gunsight Angus. While the program has grown, the foundation remains the same. A commitment to honest cattle, strong relationships with fellow cattlemen, and a program built on practical, real-world performance.
They are grateful for the support of their family and the many people who have contributed to the operation along the way. Without their help and encouragement, the Gunsight Angus program would not be possible.

Our Program
The Gunsight Angus program is built around one goal. Producing Angus cattle that perform at elevation and bring lasting value to commercial cattle operations.
In the spring of 2023, Garrett and Colter acquired the registered Page Angus herd, a program rooted in the Laramie Valley for more than thirty years and originally developed from the respected Shamrock Angus genetics. This established maternal foundation continues to serve as the backbone of the Gunsight herd today.
Every cow in the program is PAP tested for pulmonary health to ensure the cattle are suited for high elevation environments. The herd consistently demonstrates strong fertility and longevity, including a 97 percent breed up rate for multiple consecutive years. The bulls raised in the program also reflect this elevation adaptability, with recent groups averaging a PAP score of 39.
Maternal strength is a defining characteristic of the herd. Many bulls rank in the upper third of the Angus breed for the $M maternal index, reflecting the program’s emphasis on fertility, udder quality, and productive cow families. After several calving seasons with these cows, the results speak for themselves. Strong calf vigor, excellent mothering ability, and no assisted births, including from first calf heifers.
Bulls are developed with longevity and structural soundness in mind. They are fed a high roughage Total Mixed Ration designed to achieve a steady daily gain of approximately 2.6 to 2.8 pounds per day. By avoiding overfeeding, the program helps reduce joint stress and promotes athletic, durable bulls that maintain condition and perform once turned out for breeding.
The goal at Gunsight Angus is simple. Raise structurally sound cattle with strong maternal traits, fertility, performance, and the durability required to excel in harsh environments. Cattle that work where they are needed most and deliver results for the people who rely on them.
